Thing is... it actually ended up feeling too bulky. The top of this dress is already rather large on me, so I think that was the deciding factor in feeling too bunchy. Plus, I think the long turtleneck and long cardigan were just too... well, long... with the longer dress. If this doesn't scream grandma, I'm not sure what will. It's ok. I like grandmas.
I'd be lying through my teeth if I told you I wasn't having a hard time with the challenge. I feel as though I've hit my point where my ideas on remixing have gone kaput... I'm working through it, however, and will be here to the end!
How was your Monday? Are you feeling the middle of the challenge burn too?
I got a bit run down and about half or a third of my way through the challenge. If it makes you feel any better, you really can't tell that you're losing steam. You look awesome! I love the granny look and have rocked it a number of times myself. You're owning it. :)
ReplyDeleteI think you look cute....I love the colors here....Im freezing all the time too!! You know how weird this is gonna sound, but when I figure out what Im going to wear for my 30x30....I pile all my items on the middle of my bed...things look differently that way..I just dig and pull a few things out and voila!!! Hahaha...not great in theory, but it works...you could always close your eyes and pick right? You and I are now on the same outfit #..I feel much better!! hahaha

the orange and blue are great together here!
ReplyDeletedo you know that you've had an item or two that you've worn more than anything else? try excluding it/them & push yourself with something you've only worn once. maybe? either way, good luck. i'm going to need to take my own advice over the next few days.
ReplyDeleteim with emily (sartoriography) on this - you really cant tell youre loosing steam. and i only WISH my grandma would ditch her poly-blend trousers for a skirt as awesome as yours. youre almost there!!!
ReplyDeleteWell the pops of color are great! I love the print on the skirt! What if you tried tucking the shirts in?

It depends when you ask. If it's hot outside I kind of panic. If it's cooler...I feel like I only have 9 to go and I can do this. I DO MISS MY CLOSET and I am DYING to wear my birthday gifts. Like the RED LEATHER PENCIL SKIRT Nathan thrifted for me.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely feeling the mid-challenge burn! I think I've already worn my favorite/most comfy outfits, and now all I have left are less comfortable, fancier outfits. Sigh. I guess I'll just suck it up and wear one of them today!
ReplyDeleteThis challenge has been really tough for me, too! What is it??!!!
ReplyDeletegirl i feel you. i'm feeling remixed to the max. but i love the colors you got going on here. keep on truckin.
ReplyDeleteI think I need more skirts/dresses in my life. you don't look bulky at all!
ReplyDeleteYour dress is so pretty and what a great mind! Power through the rest of your challenge. You can do it!
ReplyDeleteI love all these pieces but I think you're right about the length of the top. It elongates your torso and makes the proportions very different than normal. It's not bad, though. I rather like the combination!
