30 for 30: Day NINETEEN (12/03/10)

Casual Friday has finally arrived and with it brought the start of my three day weekend at 4:31pm! It felt so good to work out of my building and know I didn't have to come back for a few days. Sometimes you just need a mental break from the craziness of work, am I right?

Jeans: Xhilaration, Target
White Shirt: Mossimo Supply Co, Target
Olive "Dress": American Apparel, via Rue La La (w/ credit & shipping included!): $7.90
White Scarf: Apt 9, Kohls
Greyish Tan Scarf: Old Navy, $3 (clearance)
Boots: Xhilaration, Thrifted, $8.99
Glasses: SEE Eyewear

Yes, American Apparel likes to call this a dress but I would have to disagree. My dresses typically do not show my bottom... I don't know about you. :) I prefer to wear this as a top.

I feel like I have worn this top to bits but after looking back through my posts, I see I have only worn it twice! Isn't that silly? Anyway, I think next week I am going to try wearing it to work on a less-casual day and see how that goes. It's begging to be worn with something other than jeans.

30 for 30: Day NINETEEN (12/03/10)

I absolutely adore both of these scarves. I picked them up toward the end of summer for super cheap as they are both relatively light, summery scarves. I'm not into packing such things away for the winter... I figure there has got to be different ways I can wear them to make them last through each season. And right I was! Layer the two together and they're perfect. I love the mix of color, the softness and the warmth. Scarves are a short haired girl's BFF!

My plans for the weekend: A birthday party tonight for my boyfriend's mom, Christmas tree hunting (of the real variety) with my parents and little brother, Christmas-tree-in-storage picking up (of the fake variety) for me, cleaning, Christmas decorating and a whole lot of relaxing and playing with my favorite furry monster cat. Welcome to the weekend! :)

30 for 30: Day EIGHTEEN (12/02/10)

If there is one thing I think I do well, it's mixing black and white prints. If you peered into my closet, you would find oodles of different pieces that each have a different black and white color scheme. Hand me colorful prints, though, and I get lost. If there is one thing I would like to do when this remix is through, it would be to inject some harder to work with/pair items into my wardrobe. It would be a new challenge for me of sorts!

30 for 30: Day 18 (12/02/10)
Black/White Polka Dot Dress: Roulette, Thrifted, $2.50
Black/White Stripe Turtleneck: Mossimo, Target, $12.99 (on sale)
Black Belt: Jones New York, Thrifted, $1.00
Black Leggings: Mossimo Supply Co, Target, $6
Black Boots: Franco Fortini, Ebay
Glasses: SEE Eyewear

I have to apologize for my wrinkle filled dress here. I promise I did not leave the house like this in the morning. A butt wrinkled dress is what happens when you work an office-type job, ya know what I'm saying? If only I could carry around a personal sized steamer with me! Ha!

30 for 30: Day 18 (12/02/10)

If you've been eyeing this turtleneck at Target, I urge you to snatch one up! It is the greatest piece - Perfectly long, super soft, easy to pair with so many things. This is one of the very few items I have bought in the past few months that isn't a thrift store piece. Yes, I like thrift store prices but this Target top is also inexpensive and well worth the price. I would have paid double, even triple, for it knowing how much I like it now!

What have you bought recently that you just absolutely love?

30 for 30: Day SEVENTEEN (12/01/10)

Can I even tell you how much I love this outfit? I could go on forever. You all already know how much I love print on print action... so how about we talk about how cool this jacket is?

30 for 30: Day 17 (12/01/10)
Black/Cream Stripe Top: Mossimo, Thrifted
Black Pants: New York & Company, ions ago
Blazer: Saks Fifth Avenue A.S.A.P., Thrifted: $3.00
Black Boots: Franco Fortini, Ebay
Glasses: SEE Eyewear

I about fainted when I laid my eyes on this jacket in one of my favorite thrift stores. OK, I know I say that about a lot of the pieces I wear... maybe I come off a bit overdramatic, but I swear it is the truth! I have a softspot for black and white prints (among so many other things!) so the print of this jacket immediately sang to me. I pulled it off the rack only to discover the unique cut it had.

30 for 30: Day 17 (12/01/10)

Instead of being cut straight down, it has an angled fit in front. I love that not only does that set it apart from most blazers, but it's also flattering. I've been waiting to wear this jacket because I figured it would be the perfect piece to lift me back into the 30x30 groove when I feel like I've lost it. I was right.

30 for 30: Day 17 (12/01/10)

In other news, it snowed all day today. That officially signifies the end of any possibility of taking photos outside. Wah wah wah. This therefore also officially means I need to learn to use my camera to its full potential so you're not stuck at looking at dull photos. I'll work on it, guys. :)
