Weekend Link Love

Michael Kors boots found in thrift store...to buy or not to buy?

I found these Michael Kors black boots at one of my favorite thrift stores the other day... I ended up walking away from them because they were $18. That is more than I would usually pay for thrifted shoes... but they were in really great condition, a good brand and real leather. I'm slightly regretting this decision and hoping they are still there... What are your thoughts?

Other than that, here are a few other things I have been enjoying this week...

- Dimestore Diamnond wore a gorgeous vintage dress a few weeks ago and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it! I love the full sleeves that are gathered at the wrist. So pretty!
- Favorite Pinterest board of the week? This award goes to Ariel P's Finery and Frock board. I love everything on it!
- Never Niche explains why she isn't Debbie. Debbie Downer, that is. I'm seeking out the Pollyanna lifestyle too. Want to join us? :)
- Kara at Unusual Form wore some black and white polka dotted pants recently and now I'm on the hunt for my own... How cute are they!?
- At the top of my fall lust list: These amazing Tallulah boots in Natural leather from MIA. Oh, swoon!

What made your week shine?

End of the week link love...

Just a few of the things I've been enjoying on the WWW lately...

I am probably the only one still working on my 30x30, but that's ok. An American Girl Doll showcased her 30 outfits back in July and I love every single one. Her vibrant red H&M skirt was the perfect piece to remix and remix again. Plus, the closet area she poses in front of? Too cute for words.

Cotton and Curls showed us how to make old shoes look new this week. I'm always looking for tips on how to clean up new-to-me pieces!

Refinery 29 broke down some easy makeup tips for those of us in the bespeckled population. My favorite tips was: apply a thick eyeliner line if you wear thick glasses and a softer line if your glasses are thinner.

Adiel of It's Because I Think Too Much put together a galactic manicure and it looks amazing! I'm not the best at doing my own nails so I like to admire amazing manicures from afar. :)

Grechen got married in a Madewell dress and looked absolutely gorgeous!

Check out the amazing vintage dress that Kelsey of Snappy Casual wore recently! I am blown away by not only the colors but also the style! Chic AND fun!

Kara at Unusual Form is showing off her thrift finds this week and, boy, are they gorgeous! I love the dark floral shirts she bought! She always finds the best stuff! Check out these older finds from back in July. Right!? Such great finds! It makes my frugal heart pitter patter.

My favorite Stella and Dot seller, Tahnie, gave us a preview of the new Fall 2011 collection of Stella and Dot pretties. What do you think about that marchesa necklace? I'm in love.

What's new with you? What did you love this week?

End of the weekend link love...

Proof you can find fashion almost anywhere

This picture is proof you can find fashion almost anywhere. It was actually taken a few weeks ago on a weekend when my little brother (he's 13) and I spent some quality time together. He wanted to hit up Gander Mountain so I obliged. He tried on hunting gear and... so did I. The only difference is he is interested in it for hunting purposes and I am interested in this hat because it was cute. Tomato, Tomäto.

Anyway... here is a little bit of link love to end this weekend. I've been collecting some link love for a while now so don't be suprised if some of the links are a little old. :)

- A little while ago Suze was holding a little competition on her facebook page where her readers could put together a final 30x30 look for her using Polyvore. I submitted a few different looks... and one ended up winning! Check her out in her final 30x30 look right here. How cute does she look in this pink and animal print get up? I love it! (But I'm biased.)

- I love the look of this scarf from Conversation Pieces. The lace, the cotton, the fringe... It's so pretty!

- Modpodging shoes? Yes, please. The minute my best friend sent me this link it was at the very top of my to-do-DIY-list. I love this idea because I have a ton of shoes that could totally use a funky upgrade like this.

- Looking to add some glam to these next few holiday weeks but don't have any extra money to buy anything? I feel ya. Check out this DIY glitter nail dip polish how to from A Pair and A Spare and This Is What I Do. I basically now want glitter nails every day of my life thanks to this post. And I'm not even a nailpolish kind of girl!

- Proof that I need to start sewing again... Check out the amazing ball gown that Casey created for herself to wear to her husband's navy ball. So elegant, so pretty, so glamorous. Oh my dear!

- I keep coming back to this post at Ham and Must Have to keep my socks with shoes inspiration running strong. I've said it before but I'll say it again - I'm not a socks girl. This post helps me feel inspired and, well, that thing called winter helps too.

- One of my favorite 30x30 remix looks was this one from day2daywear. Zebra, red, and brown? Never would I have thought to put such things together but it SO works! I've actually saved this for a little outfit recreation inspiration, but that's a post for another day. :)

- And, finally, another amazing link my best friend sent me (she's amazing like that): DIY glitter boots at Freshly Picked. Amazing. I'm still trying to hunt down the perfect thrifted pair of boots to glitterize but rest assured a glitter pair of boots will adorn my feet soon enough!

Links for the Week's End

Sleepy Ernie
I think Ernie knows how to embrace the weekend spirit! :)

This Anthropologie neckace DIY by Flamingotoes.com is gorgeous. I am already envisioning my own version made out of a thrifted scarf and pins...

I feasted my eyes upon this gorgeous lace scarf from Conversation Pieces this morning. (Found via the shop's Facebook page.) It's now on my fall lust list!

Still not sure what to dress up as for Halloween? Miss Vinyl Ahoy created the most fantastic Lady Gaga costume and tells you how you can create the same look here.

I think the idea of modge podging boots with fabric is so, so neat.

Want a fancier boot? Modge podge with glitter! Oh, how I love this! (Via my BFF, Alicia!)

These crispy green bean fries are on my must make list for this week. I love recipes that re-make naughty foods using vegetables.

How is your weekend going? Mine has been perfect thus far - I slept in late and then went on a run with my boyfriend. He was a great motivator as he's into running and I am very much not a runner. :) When all was said and done, I felt great. I always forget how good exercise feels after you get over the hump of not wanting to do it. On my list for tonight: A bachelorette party! The over the knee boots are coming out to dance!

How is your weekend going? I have spent this rainy Saturday lounging around with my Ernie. (That's him, a bit smaller than he is now, above.) I wouldn't ask for anything more. I love to spend rainy weekends holed up inside, away from the cold and wet.

Here's some of my favorite things that have been found via my web browser lately...

Sparkle Power's friday etsy favorites are always fantastic. I especially love this week's edition. These vintage style feather pendants ($6!) from Two String Jane are at the top of my swoon list right now.

Emily (Cupcakes and Cashmere) has me toying with the idea of making my own english muffins. They are my bread breakfast item of choice. Topped with homemade strawberry jam? Yes, please.

A Pair and a Spare is my most favorite fashion/DIY blog right now. So, so, so in love with this blog! I am toying with the idea of creating one of these cut out shoulder shirts. This would be a cute look to wear to a bachelorette party I am attending next weekend.

I am loving this headband DIY over at ClosetConfections.com. It's a no sew - which means it's quick and easy! Imagine all different looks you could create with fun vintage ties...

Who doesn't love P.S. I Made This? I am especially enjoying her fringe scarf from an old tshirt DIY this week. Check out the video - It's so easy! I already made one and am planning on wearing it this coming week.

MakingItLovely.com is talking about her new necklace which is pretty but has meaning. I love the idea behind this! (And I'm loving dainty, small necklaces right now to boot.)

And, finally, I enjoyed viewing these very fashionable wedding guests! They gave that bride a run for her money! :)
